What this exhibition made possible

This was not art placed in a space, it was space reshaped by art. A visible, public invitation to consider how culture changes when people who are usually positioned at the margins are centered with care, craft, and creative authority.

Why John Lewis mattered

Exhibiting at John Lewis – Westfield White City placed the art in full public view, within a mainstream environment shaped by everyday footfall. It mattered to see a Black woman’s creative leadership held in plain sight — visible, legitimate, and uninterrupted..

How the work was held

My approach is rooted in art-led storytelling and presence. The visual work holds complexity in the room, allowing people to engage thoughtfully without requiring personal disclosure, while still opening space for meaningful reflection and dialogue..
