Art and Practice

This is not just an art practice.
This is where the work begins.

Amja Unabashedly is a London-based contemporary Black British artist working at the intersection of narrative, identity, and strategy. Each piece forms part of an ongoing enquiry into the space between what is lived and what is expressed.

The work does not arrive fully explained.
It arrives as a question.

Art as Research & Development

Every artwork is part of a wider body of thinking.

Before there are frameworks, before there is language, there is the canvas.

This is where tensions surface.
Where contradictions are allowed to exist without resolution.
Where meaning begins to take shape without needing to be named.

The practice is not about producing images.
It is about making visible what often remains unspoken.

  • The work moves.

  • From artwork → insight
    From insight → translation
    From translation → framework
    From framework → application

What begins as visual enquiry becomes structured thinking — developed into signature frameworks including SSCS™ and Cypher™.

These frameworks are now used across:

— Creative and personal development spaces
— Organisational and leadership contexts
— Workshops, talks, and collaborative environments

The work does not stop at expression.
It becomes something that can be used.

  • For the collector:

Each piece sits within a wider body of work that holds narrative, depth, and cultural relevance. To collect is to hold part of an evolving conversation.

  • For the individual:

The work creates space, without demand. It allows reflection without requiring explanation. A moment to see yourself differently, without needing to perform that seeing.

  • For organisations and institutions:

This is the origin point of the frameworks used in narrative alignment work. The art offers a non-extractive way to explore tension, culture, and lived experience within systems.

A Living Practice

The work exists across:

— Exhibitions in London and beyond
— Selected and private collections
— Collaborative and commissioned projects
— Ongoing studio-based research and development

Each setting holds a different entry point.
The work remains the same.

If you are here, you are already in proximity to the work.

You may be looking to collect.
To experience.
To collaborate.
Or simply to understand what sits beneath what you have already seen.

This is where it begins.
